Airflow Management
One of the highest costs of any data center is for cooling, responsible for an estimated average of 40% of the total costs of your entire facility. It is, therefore, critical to optimize your facility's cooling infrastructure to decrease energy consumption and help reduce costs and environmental impact.
When developing Nexpand, one of our core goals was to provide you with the best airflow management solution to reduce your cooling costs to a minimum. A cabinet doesn't have cooling needs, but its design is critical to prevent airflow recirculation, the mixture of hot and cold air, and air leakages. The impact of a great cabinet design is two-fold when reducing energy consumption. Firstly, it reduces the energy used by the cooling infrastructure as the set temperature of the containment is easier to reach and maintain. Secondly, it helps the cold air reach the IT equipment, reducing the need for the IT equipment to activate their fans to maintain their optimal operating temperature, reducing their power consumption.
The best at reducing your costs
Nexpand is the best cabinet in the market for reducing air loss; in other words, it efficiently redirects your cool air to exactly where you want it. Tested and proven, Nexpand is the only premium cabinet that allows you to avoid the recirculation of hot and cold airflows, directly reducing the energy consumption of IT equipment, ensuring it remains at optimal operating temperature, and minimizing total building cooling costs.
Top of cabinet blind plates
You can close roof cutouts using blind plates where you don't need to have a brush. These plates can be easily placed to cover gaps that are not wanted and allow you to adapt your cabinet roof to your specific needs. The plates are sized at 100 mm to give you absolute freedom of placement.
Best in-rack airflow management
Our airflow management pack seals the space between the vertical mounting rails (VMRs) and the side panels; our solution will cover every possible gap in a 600 mm wide or an 800 mm wide cabinet. For 800 mm wide cabinets, the side skirts feature 12 cutouts to place different accessories and allow cable entry from front to rear.
Covering all possible leaking points
In addition to sealing the space between the VMRs and the side panels, our airflow management package also seals between the VMRs and the top and bottom of the cabinet. The solution provides an airtight cabinet with the VMRs being mounted up to 250 mm inside the cabinet.
Unrivaled airtight accessories
Fill the cutouts of your 800 mm airflow package with blind plates when no cables are required to go through them, or go beyond the highly inefficient brush traditionally used for cable entry and benefit from our innovative cable entry solution that uses foam to provide the highest degree of air tightness in the market.
Blind Plates for your unused units
Use our toolless mount blind plates to easily cover unused units within your cabinet, or select from various sizes available of our steel blind plates to cover multiple units at once.
Bottom of plinth racks
You can place our cabinets directly on the floor and achieve an airtight solution. We also offer bottom plinths to ensure total airtightness when leveling feet are required to align your containment levels on uneven floors.
Strips to seal space between cabinets
The devil is in the details, and while 2 mm of space between cabinets may seem insignificant, the effect this can have in a large corridor of cabinets is very significant. With our sealing strips, you can eliminate possible air leakage between cabinets.
